By the way, the 2009 Philadelphia Eagles Season...

It’s over, Jim.  Sure, we’re a little over halfway through the season, but let’s be honest.  This team has had too many problems from the word “Go,” despite a promising offense that was built around McNabb.

  • The Offensive Line can’t stop a high school team, let alone a team like the Oakland Raiders.  Sure, they beat some crappy teams before that, but they’ve been mediocre at best against decent teams.  In a year where the Saints and the Viking are dominating the NFC, what chance do the Eagles have?
  • The Defensive Line isn’t faring much better.  When you go out and sign someone who hasn’t played in two years to your corps, you know you’ve got problems.
  • The Red Zone offense. Exactly… what Red Zone fofense?  You’d think with McCoy and Weaver, Reid would commit a little more to the running game.  But like a bad relationship that you know should end but you can’t bring yourself to do it, Reid sticks stubbornly to the pass.
  • Westbrook is done.  Sure, he may come back next year, but how much does he have left?  After two concussions so close together like that, and his body already having wear and tear on it, I think we’ve seen the end of Westbrook’s career as an Eagle.
  • Note to McNabb:  you don’t have midget wide receivers on your team.  Stop throwing the ball at players’ feet.

But don’t worry, Eagles fans.  There’s always next year.  Like we said last year.  And the year before.  And the year before that…
